Marwar Festival
The Marwar Festival is celebrated as per the Hindu calendar in Ashwin (Sept-Oct) in the
city of Jodhpur, which is celebrated in to the admiration of local heroes of Rajasthan,
India. Dedicated to the folk heroes of Rajasthan and in their honors, this is two-day
festival, celebrated during the Sharad Poornima of the Ashwin month and is also known
as Rajasthan Maand Festival. The foremost attraction of the Marwar Festival is the
Rajasthani folk music that turns around the quixotic and zealous lifestyle of the former
monarchs of Rajasthan. The classical folk music, which is sung during the festival, is
known as Maand.
