The tour package of Palace on Wheels Luxury Train is the joint venture of Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation and the Indian Railways. The train contains 14 luxurious coaches on meter gauge with all modern amenities, rich interiors, finest wines, lavish cuisines and diligent attendants. The train is designed in a contemporary royal style where you can experience lavishness and have embellished the history of Rajasthan. Experience and enjoy the royalty during the seven day tour through arid landscapes, historic forts and fortress, culturally and ethnically rich places in this most majestic land. Throughout the journey, you will be treated like Maharaja & Maharani. Day 01 - Delhi 1600 hours: Arrive at Safdarjung Railway station (Delhi) for check in and board on Palace on Wheels Royal Train Tour. The tour starts in the evening with a ceremonial welcome aboard the Palace on Wheels. 1745 hours: Departure for the royal tour.
2000 hours: Dinner on board Day 02 - Jaipur (Thursday) Arrival in Jaipur.
0730 hours: Breakfast on board.
0830 hours: Sightseeing.
1300 hours: Lunch at the Rambagh Palace Hotel.
During sightseeing, visit vibrant bazaars of Jaipur and enjoy the dazzling and romantic Jaipur soul. You will enjoy seeing the all three forts of Jaipur namely- the Amber, the Jaigarh and the Nahargarh. You will also visit other charming sights of Jaipur like the Hawa Mahal- Palace of winds, the City Square & Palace, and Albert hall museum. Evening of Jaipur is quite lovely & you will enjoy much to watch it. Lunch venue at famous Amber Fort. Departure for Sawai Madhopur. Day 03 - Sawai Madhopur (Friday): Breakfast on board. Arrive at Sawai Madhopur in morning which is the base for the Ranthambhor National Park, the famous Tiger Reserve. You will see diverse wildlife, including the Indian tiger, hyena, nilgai, wild boar, fox and over three hundred species of birds. You will also visit Ranthambhor Fort built in 994 AD, which has ruined pavilions, walls, chhatris and impressive monuments.
Afternoon visit Chittaurgarh Fort- the largest fort of India. The Chittaurgarh Fort, built in the 7th century, has many vestiges of heroism. Visit the Vijay Stambh (Tower of Victory) and the Kirti Stambh (Tower of Fame). Also enjoy Light & Sound show at fort. Dinner on board. Day 04 - Udaipur (Saturday): Arrival at 8.00 AM. Break Fast at Shikar Bari- A hunting lodge. Later proceed for sightseeing where you will visit "Venice of the East". The rugged fortresses, charming palaces, sandy terrain, lakes and forested hills brimming with wildlife will become a part of your most cherished memories. The Lake Palace and Jag Mandir are situated amid the Lake Pichola. Also explore the City Palace and Sahelion ki Bari. Lunch at Sun set point-Open air restaurant.
Evening- Boat Ride and visit of Sunset Point. Evening Tea on board. Dinner on board.
Later train will depart for the next destination- Jaisalmer. Day 05 - Jaisalmer (Sunday): Arrival at 9.15 AM. Breakfast on board. Proceed for sightseeing where you will visit Gadsisar Lake, Fort, Havlies and City. Lunch at Hotel Moomal- the first hotel of Jaisalmer carved in yellow sand stone. Afternoon excursion to Sam for short camel rides in the sand dunes of Thar Desert. Dinner & Cultural Programme at Sam duns. Return back to train to proceed for Jodhpur. Day 06 - Jodhpur (Monday): Arrival at 7.00 AM. Break Fast on Board.
Proceed for sightseeing where you will visit Meharangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada & Umaid Bhawan Palace. Also visit Jaswant Thada, an imposing Marble Memorium built in 1899 and the museum situated in the Umaid Public Gardens. The architectural splendors of these remnants will enthrall you. Lunch at Umaid Bhawan Palace-a luxury 5 Star Hotel. Return back to train to proceed for Bharatpur. Dinner on board. Day 07 - Bharatpur -Agra (Tuesday): Arrival at 5.00 AM. Departure for the Keoladeo Ghana National Park. Break fast at Bird Sanctuary in forest lodge. Here you will visit a large variety of exotic birds that fly from the distant lands of Siberia and China. Later, you will arrive at Agra. Visit to The Taj Mahal, a symbol of eternal love of a Mughal king and his queen which is counted as a world's wonder and it is also known as world's heritage site and considered as the most beautiful historic monument in the world. Lunch at Taj Palace Hotel. Also visit Sikandra, the tomb of Akbar. Gala Dinner at Hotel Mughal Sheraton. Day 08: Delhi (Wednesday): Welcome back to Delhi Cantonment Railway Station to step back from fantasy to reality. While the royal train arrives at the platform by 0500 hours you can check-out after breakfast till 0745 hours.
