The journey through the Golden Chariot - Pride of The South train offers a luxurious expedition to discover major south Indian heritage sites along with an experience of wild life adventure and beach life of Goa. The Golden Chariot - Pride of The South train named after the famous Stone Chariot in Hampi, a world heritage site, in Southern India offers a royal journey of 7 Nights / 8 Days that begins every Monday from Bangalore and traverses through Mysore, visiting Srirangapatna, Mysore Palace; the Nagarhole National Park (Kabini) and continuing to the historical sites of Shravanabelagola, Belur-the 11th century cradle of Hoysala architecture and a world heritage site, Halebidu, Hampi and thereafter inflowing into the triangular heritage site of Badami, Pattadakal, Aihole, and lastly the Golden Beaches of Goa before ending in Bangalore. The train has fully air-conditioned cabins equipped with Wi-Fi, LCD television, DVD with 6 satellite channels and also with other luxurious amenities. You can enjoy Lounge Bar, Gym and Multi Cuisine Restaurant on board. Day 1: Bangalore (Monday): Arrive for Golden Chariot Train Tour and you will be warmly welcomed by tour representatives and later check-in at the Leela Palace followed by lunch at Jamawar or Citrus. Departure for the royal tour of Bangalore Sightseeing where you will visit Tippu's Palace, Bull Temple & Lalbagh. Arrival at Yeshwantpur Railway Station where you will get traditional Indian welcome at Railway Station. Depart to Mysore at 09:00 pm. Day 2 - Mysore/ Kabini/ Bandipur (Tuesday): On arrival at Mysore, you will be drive to Kabini/ Bandipur after breakfast. Reach Jungle Lodge. Lunch at the Jungle Lodge. Here you will visit Rajiv Gandhi National Park, Nagarhole (Kabini), the hunting retreat of the Mysore Maharajas. This is also a bird watcher's paradise. Also enjoy Jungle / Boat Safari after the lunch. Dinner and stay overnight at Jungle Lodge. Day 3 - Mysore (Wednesday) Return back to Mysore. Breakfast and lunch on board The Golden Chariot. Later enjoy Mysore sightseeing where you will visit Mysore Palace- Built in Indo-Saracenic style and Srirangapatnam. Srirangapatna is the island fortress of the legendary warrior king Tipu Sultan You will also enjoy cultural show at Brindavan Gardens followed by dinner at Hotel KRS. Back on board The Golden Chariot at night. Depart from Mysore to Hassan. Day 4 - Hassan (Thursday) Arrive at Hassan. Breakfast on board. Enjoy sightseeing of Shravanabelagola (Please note that you would have to climb close to 700 steps to experience the architectural marvel. Tourists unwilling to experience can stay back onboard The Golden Chariot. Lunch on board. You will be drive to Belur and Halebid for sightseeing in afternoon through the Golden Chariot. Belur in Hassan district is famous for its wonderful Hoysala Temple Later proceed for Halebid which was the capital of the Hoysalas. It has one of the finest Hoysala temples. You will also visit Shravanabelagola, which is an important Jain pilgrim centre where you will see the largest monolithic statue Lord Gomateswara towers 58 ft. Depart from Hassan to Hospet . Day 5 - Hospet (Friday) Early morning arrival at Hospet. Take morning breakfast and depart for Hampi (a World Heritage Site) sightseeing where you will visit Virupaksha Temple. Queens's Bath, Elephant Stables, Local crafts bazaar. Return to the Golden Chariot for Lunch. Once again go for sightseeing after the lunch and you will visit Royal enclosure, Hazara Rama Temple. Check out monuments and temples that depict the royalty of the erstwhile era. Day 6 - Badami (Saturday): Arrival at Badami at 08:30 am morning. Take morning breakfast and be prepared to visit the erstwhile capital of the Chalukyas- Badami: A World Heritage Site. Its picturesque surroundings would definitely make you mesmerized. Visit the famous cave temples of Badami. You will also visit Pattadakal, with its beautifully chiseled temples. Dinner on board and later proceed for Goa. Relax and enjoy the facilities onboard The Golden Chariot: Spa, Gym Dinner onboard. You will reach Goa at post midnight. Day 7 - Goa (Sunday): Morning arrival at Goa where you will get breakfast on board. Get ready for sightseeing where you will visit the famous churches of old Goa, Portuguese house. Move around the beaches and try its lip-smacking cuisine. Reach Majorda Beach Resort for lunch. Also enjoy Ayurvedic massage, a visit to the casino, a dip in the pool / beach, etc. Later depart for Bangalore. Day 8 - Bangalore (Monday): On eighth day of the Golden Chariot Train Tour, you will reach the Yeswanthpur railway station of Bangalore in the morning. Journey Ends.
