Chennai - Mahabalipuram - Kanchipuram - Trichy - Tanjore - Madurai - Periyar - Cochin - Bangalore - Mysore - Chennai (12 Nights / 13 Days) Day 01/ Chennai (Madras) Arrive Chennai (Madras). Meet assist at the airport by our tour executive then transfer to hotel, overnight stay in Hotel. Day 02/ Chennai (Madras) - Mahabalipuram - Kanchipuram - Trichy Morning after leisurely breakfast proceed for full day sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram and Kanchipuram. The former was the main port of Pallava dynasty & has exquisite rock-cut monuments, monolithic structures and bas reliefs. It is also a beach resort. Kanchipuram is famed for it's hand - woven cottons and kanjivaram silk. Evening transfer to railway station for Trichy night stay in train. Day 03/ Trichy Morning arrive Trichy,meet assist at the railway station then transfer to hotel. Afternoon proceed for sightseeing tour of Trichy visiting the ancient temples dedicated to Lord Ganapathi - 434 steps cut out into the rock side and interspersed with shrines, lead to the temple, yet another flight leads to the temple of Lord Shiva. The ascend is climaxed by magnificient view of the sacred Kaveri river. Visit Srirangam a massive temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu which contains within its walls a bazzar. Day 04/ Trichy - Tanjore - Madurai Morning drive to Madurai enroute visiting the famous 9th century Chola Temple Brihodeswara at Tanjore. Check in to hotel. Day 05/ Madurai Morning proceed for half day sightseeing tour. Visit the great Meenakshi Temple dedicated to the consort of Lord Shiva with its towering Gopurams (rising high above the surrounding country side). Later visit the Tirumala Nayak Palace - a gracious building in the Indo Saracenic style, famous for the stucco work on its domes and arches. Afternoon free at leisure. Day 06/ Madurai - Periyar -a wildlife sanctuary with beautiful lake. It is situated in lush green forest. On arrival transfer to hotel. After check in you can proceed for a spice plantation tour. Overnight stay in Periyar.Day 07/Periyar Early morning we take a full day jeep safari to watch animals in their natural habitat on the water's edge. You are likely to see animals like Wild Boars, Sambars, Wild Dogs, Langur Monkeys and Wild Elephants. We return back to the hotel in the evening. Overnight at Periyar.Day 08/Periyar - Kumarkaom Morning drive to Kumarakom to board houseboat or also known as kettuvalam. This is one of the finest ways to explore the backwaters. Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight at the houseboat. Day 09/Alleppey - Cochin Today morning we disembark the houseboat at Alleppey - a backwater town located at the edge of the Vembanad lake. From here we drive to the Cochin also known as Cochin which is a famous coastal city in the state of Kerala. Arrive and transfer to the hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Cochin.Day 10/ Cochin Morning proceed for half day tour to visit the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue , Chinese fishing nets, & St.Francis Church . Afternoon free at leisure. Day 11/ Cochin - Bangalore - Mysore Morning transfer to airport for Bangalore flight. Arrive and drive directly to Mysore. Check in to hotel. Day 09/ Mysore Morning full day excursion of Belur and Halebid. The Chenna Kesava Temple of Belur built 900 years ago is an exquisite example of Hoysala art. Halebid's 12th century Hoysaleswara and Kedareswara temple are masterpieces of hindu art. Day 12/Mysore Morning tour of Mysore. Overnight stay at Mysore. Day 13/ Mysore - Chennai (Madras) Transfer to railway station for Chennai (Madras) train. Arrive & transfer to International airport to board flight for onward journey or way back home.
